Famous Friends - Henry the Archer

Episode 90 finds us with long time personal friend, and friend of the show, Henry O! Listen in as we catch up on what's been going on the last couple of months and find out what we've been obsessing about. Did you know that Texas has it's very own Sound Garden? Well, Susie got to play in it and had the time of her life, Katie has adopted a puppy called Goose, and Henry has made Fort Worth his permanent residence and put out a new album, The Garden. 

 

As per usual, the episode is a little all of the place, but the chaos makes it fun, right?! 

 

You can catch Henry the Archer playing all over the state in support of the new EP, but specifically, you can see them this Saturday at Division Brewing (Hi, Wade!) along with our friends in Mean Motor Scooter, and Denver Williams (who wrote the theme song for this podcast).

Springtime in Fort Worth

Susie, Ivy, and Katie are back together to chat about all the things! In this episode we find out who loves Jeremy Clarkson, what a puzzle table is, and that pinball is more than just hitting the flippers to keep the ball in play. We're Not Really Famous Strangers is becoming an installment we all love and Ivy brought her own question again. Yay! 

We had a blast celebrating the 1 year anniversary of the Cicada with our pals in The Me-Thinks with Arenda Light and J/O/E, and then were off to the Boiled Owl for the MMS album release show.

A New Player Has Entered the Game

Actually...She's back!! After a much-needed hiatus, Ivy has returned to the Casita Mas Fina. This episode is a little all over the place as Katie, Ivy, and Susie catch up on everything that has happened since our last episode. We have had snow, birthdays, and survived the NIght Country. There is a lot of Book Tok and we are in agreement, across the board, that we need to re-do our bookshelves. We also have an epic round of We're Not Really Famous Strangers and a quick music minute. It’s Christmas Time

Susie and Katie are getting to the end of the year and finding that our lives are pretty quiet. Not obsessing about much or doing things outside of activities leading up to Christmas. Katie attended the annual Anderson Family Cookie Party, Susie went to a very itchy Christmas, and we both talked about the upcoming FW Weekly music awards we were scheduled to attend. 

We have a super fun Christmas edition of We're not Really Famous Strangers and another plea to support local this Christmas season.

The One Where Katie Had A Birthday

Listen in as we discuss all things Katie's Birthday, the holiday and weekend leading up to it, and the entire week after. Along the way we sprinkle in a few obsessions and other things we've been up to. We have a Holiday Edition of We're Not Really Famous Strangers, which posed a good question - What would you say would make up the perfect holiday meal, including dessert?  

 

In our Famous Focus this week we put the spotlight on businesses that need our help to keep afloat. We've seen so many posts recently from businesses in the Near Southside that are closing or struggling to keep the doors open and the lights on. Being mindful of your individual situations, please do what you can to patronize the businesses that make up this beautiful part of Fort Worth. One way you can support is to go to The Cicada this Tuesday for their Krampusnacht gnome craft night. Please see details on their social media pages. 

 

Musically, we have a lot happening all over the Fort as we go swinging into the holiday season. Check out what's happening at Lola's, The Cicada, GROWL, and all of your other favorite venues and support these businesses and musicians we love so much.

It’s Been a Minute - A loooooong One

Y'all! Listen in as we catch up on EVERYTHING that has been going on in our lives. It's been quite the adventure for the past month. Katie had a sibling trip to DC for a cousin's wedding, Susie had a long weekend with Baby Rosemary, and all sorts of adventures as well.

Susie went to Idaho, Katie went to several concerts and a party, and we are both super excited about the upcoming Arts Goggle. We discuss the best Haunted Houses in the Dee Eff Dub and, of course, all the things we're obsessing about. 

I'm really enjoying the "We're not really Famous Strangers" part of the podcast and hope you are, too!

Texas bringing the Heat

Susie and Katie are back at it for episode 82 of Fort Worth Famous. Our doggies join us for this very special episode, so you will hear us talking to them quite a bit. Katie tells us all about her travels, Susie survived 120 mph straight-line winds, and find out what happened when one of us played Cards Against Humanity with some ultra-conservative Christians (not that there's anything wrong with that). 

Our Famous Focus this week is The Cicada again! Tyler and John are working so hard to bring in the peeps....they've come up with creative happy hours, craft nights, Drag Bingo, Burlesque nights, and of course lined up lots of local and traveling bands to play for us. They're also working with Fort Worth Animal Care and Control to have regular adoption events. We hope that everyone we know will become regulars at this lovely establishment. 

We're Not Really Famous Strangers has 7 more questions for you to learn more and me and Katie. The spell she chooses to use to resolve a mundane task is one of my favorites! 

In our Music Minute we review the MMS show at Tulips, Plum Boys and Averi Burk at Lola's, and let you all know about some of the super fun events coming up including Chief Swiftwater's album release party at GROWL records on 09/30.

Susie and Katie are back in the Casita Mas Fina as we discuss our latest obsessions, travels, game nights, and the best burgers in the Fort. All that, plus Booktalk Coffeeshop Paint Night fun and shenanigans make for an enjoyable episode.
